Graduate Students

In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of the study of medical history, Dr. Markel is actively involved in supervising graduate students in doctoral and professional programs. He directs students working on their dissertations and teaches graduate-level courses including many independent studies. His graduate students are drawn from departments in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; the Ford School of Public Policy; the School of Public Health; and many other units. Courses may focus on the general history of medicine, the history of epidemics, and medicine in literature and the visual arts.

Interested students are encouraged to email the department.
