Please join us for a screening of the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, staring Jack Nicholson. Based on the 1962 Ken Kesey novel, it is considered one of the greatest films ever made and was the second of only three films ever to win and Academy Award in all five major categories.
The film portrays Nicholson as the criminal Randle McMurphy. After serving a short stint on a prison farm, McMurphy is transferred to a mental institution in the hopes of serving out an easier sentence. He quickly learns, however, that the hospital is run with an iron fist by Nurse Ratched (portrayed by Louise Fletcher), a tyrant who routinely intimidates and mistreats her patients.
